HICE is our Hydrogen
Internal
Combustion
Engine vehicle.
Modifying a regular motor Honda GX35 to work on hydrogen,
the students of Los Altos Academy of Engineering have successfully
been able to run the motor.
The HICE vehicle was originally inspired by Mr. Keirns for
the Shell Eco-marathon. Students have then discovered a
viable fuel injector to be used from Dr. Bleckham from Cal-State
LA. The students have been able to run the motor and start
HICE at the second Shell Eco-marathon, of the year 2008.
HICE's body originally belonged to High Voltage, but it
was temporarily converted.
On the 25th of October, the composites team successfully
infused a new body for the HICE vehicle.
