This team placed 2nd!
They created an app called,
"Together" using Javascript via Thunkable, and was
developed to alleviate the after effects of natural
disasters by taking full advantage of local communities.
The app relies on a close interaction between users.
Victims of natural disasters may request for essentials
such as food, water, shelter, and users within close
proximity may respond to those requests. Users not
affected by the disasters can keep up to date with
events around the world and will be provided with the
option to support others through monetary donations.

These team created an app called,
"Disaster Forecaster" which was inspired by
natural disasters such as Hurricane Harvey, the
earthquake in Mexico, and the Northern California fires.
This app aims to educate individuals regarding
preparation and survival in case of an emergency. There
are four main features within the app: tips, donations,
shelters, and history. In the tips section, there is
pieces of advice for preparation of a natural disaster
as well as surviving the aftermath. Since each state or
region has their own natural disasters that occur, it
will be based on where they live. The donation section
allows affected people to receive donations and others
not affected to donate. This app allows a community to
become closer with one another and ultimately give and
receive help as needed.
